Monday - Breakfast Club. We will be delivering Pie pamphlet order forms around town if any parents can come along and help.
Usual day in class

Tuesday -  Decorated bikes and Jack the Kaka. Yr 5/6/7/8 practice for Ki O Rahi 1st block - this leads to a Tournament on 14th April. Technology at Makoura College.  Covered shoes is a must and long hair tied back.  Bring a pen / pencil. Year 6’s to Matua James for Science. 1pm Kapa Haka continues for all students interested. Matua James, Matua Frank, Whaea Lesley.  Yr 6 and 8 EOTC forms need to be back and parent support / transport is needed please.
B.O.T.Meeting at 7pm in the Staffroom.

Wednesday - Walking School bus at 8am meet at the Belvedere Dairy.
Breakfast Club.

Thursday - Breakfast Club, Mufti day and Whole School Assembly.

Friday - Good Friday - we will be back at school on Wednesday 30th March.

All homework is being given out as a paper copy as I am finding it difficult to transfer the homework to docs.
I will share a PDF file with you if you need one, however your child will need to make a doc. Let us know.

Monday - Breakfast Club. Usual day in class


Tuesday -  Technology at Makoura College.  Covered shoes is a must and long hair tied back.  Bring a pen / pencil. Year 6’s to Matua James for Science. 1pm Kapa Haka begins for all students interested. Matua James, Matua Frank, Whaea Lesley.  Yr 7 ETC forms must be back.
The Annual Pie Throw - last block.  Teachers as targets / students as throwers.  There will be a small fee for every throw and this will cover teacher's’ dry cleaning bill, doctors fees and specialist treatment!

Wednesday - Walking School bus at 8am meet at the Belvedere Dairy.

Thursday - Breakfast Club, Usual day

Friday - Year 7 EOTC - river safety and raft building.  Parent supervision and transport is required. Team sports are underway last block 2pm, and we would love parent help with coaching. Students playing rugby - you will need a mouth-guard. Matua James will be coaching as he is a coach and player himself.

Parent interviews are now on so you can decide whether you want a 30 minute time after 3pm - at school or you would like a home visit during the evening.   A note will go home with times.

Sleepover

Monday - Breakfast Club. Swimming at 1.10 to 2.45 at the town pool - last day for instructional swimming. Bring your hats, sunblock and togs/towel plus suitable walking shoes.

Tuesday -  Technology at Makoura College.  Covered shoes is a must and long hair tied back.  Bring a pen / pencil. Year 6’s to Matua James for Science. 1pm Walking to Triathlon Course

Wednesday - Walking School bus at 8am meet at the Belvedere Dairy
Whole School Triathlon
2nd block - 10.40 to 12pm Year 6 / 7 / 8 - yr5’s will help supervise
3rd block - 12.45 to 1.45pm Year 3 / 4 / 5 - Rm 12 will help supervise
Last block - 1.45 to 2.45pm Year 0 / 1 / 2 - House Leaders and Depts to help supervise.

Thursday - Team Kahikatea to deliver Pie Order forms around town - parents / whanau help required.  Team Kahikatea Sleepover begins after dinner at 6pm

Friday - Big Day Out in Masterton

Due to some inappropriate behaviour with scooters and wheels at school, we are banning all wheels during morning tea, lunch and afternoon play this week.  Students are able to ride, scoot and skateboard to and from school but just not in school grounds.  Hopefully we will be back to normal next week - Week 7.

Road Patrollers please remember to do your duty before and after school.  If you are not coming to school, let Matua know so he can find someone else for your duty, or ask someone reliable to do it for you.

Sleepover and Big Day Out

On Thursday 10 March, Team Kahikatea is having a school sleepover, followed by a ‘Big Day Out’ in Masterton on Friday.  The purpose for the event is to build positive relationships with other students and teachers across the team.  We hope that the children will take the time to enjoy each other’s company in a constructive and respectful manner. 

On the Thursday evening we invite whanau come along with their children and share some time with us. Bring your dinner or use our school BBQ to cook something up for tea, get to know other families, help put up the tents and have some fun.  The Hall and Rm 12 will be open for sleeping quarters or your child can bring along a tent, or tent with others.

On the following day, Friday 11 March, we will be travelling to Masterton for our Big Day Out.  This will include students choosing 1 activity out of Ten Pin Bowling, Skate Park, Mini Putt or Paddle Boats.  We will return just after lunch for a swim at the Carterton Pool.  We will require some whanau help and transport for this outing. We may have room for parent helpers on the buses, but if we are oversubscribed, some parents many need to travel in their cars.

The Itinerary is as follows …..
Thursday
· 6pm If you haven’t already had your dinner, bring it with you, help put up tents and have some fun together.  We will have a short presentation around 8pm in the hall showing what we are learning this term.  Bed by 10pm
Friday
· 7.30am... Breakfast
· 8.am... Pack up tents, sleeping gear and make lunches for the day out. Lunch options will be provided.
· 9.10am...Depart school & travel to Masterton by bus.
· 9.30am…Morning Tea provided at the park.
· 9.45am...Walk around to Master Bowl bowling centre. Ten Pin bowling or stay at the park for Skate Park, Mini Putt and the Paddle Boats. [Students choice]
· 11.45am...Walk back to Queen Elizabeth Park. Have lunch and enjoy the children’s playground
· 12.30 / 1pm… Return to Carterton Pools by bus / private car
· 2.45 pm...Return to school.
Children will need: A drink bottle, suitable footwear for walking & socks (Need these for bowling), sunhat, warm top.  (Check the weather to see what will be appropriate that day.) Scooter or skateboard for skate park option.
We will be providing some breakfast options but feel free to bring your favourite cereal and all lunch items.
The total cost per student is [$15.00. Putt Putt]  [$16.00. Ten Pin] [$15.00 Paddle Boats] or [$11.00 Skate Park]  Please return your permission slip and payment ASAP to get your choice (Friday at latest).
