Year 8 Wairarapa College Open Day Outing

All Year 8’s Wai Col Open Day - Week 3
Friday 7th August 1pm till 3.20pm.

Dear Parents and Whanau

On Friday the 7th August from 1 pm until 3.15 pm / 3.20pm, Wairarapa College has invited all of our Year 8’s along to their Open Day.  As there is no cost to our students, I would like to take them all along to see the Open Day at Wairarapa College.

While some of you have chosen other colleges to send you children to, it can be quite a good idea to look at all options.

The college will provide a bus and we will leave school around 1pm, returning a little late – approximately at 3.15 / 3.20pm.  So if your child goes on the bus home, can you please arrange other transport for this day?

If you do not want your child to go on this outing, please let us know and they will remain at school for the afternoon.

Regards

Lesley, Michelle and Mel

Whanau Information Evening Term 2 2015

What an amazing turnout at our Parent Information Evening that was held in conjunction with our Parent,Teacher Interviews last week.
We had so many whanau through Room 14 looking at all the wonderful things we do here at Carterton School in Years 6, 7 and 8.
We had so many positive remarks by parents who visited the display, plus the Carterton students who came through with their teachers.

A huge thankyou to all of our Year 7 and 8 students who helped put the display together and hosted the younger students of our school.  Awesome effort!!!!!

Friday Funday

We had a great day on Friday when the PTA supplied a free sausage sizzle for every child, plus a lollie scramble and a free mufti day.  The whole school got on board with each class providing a variety of fun activities for all students to participate in.
Room 14 had a great time icing biscuits and making jelly and icecream.  When everything was ready, Jayden supplied the movie for the afternoon.  A great day was had by all!

Year 8's Powell Hut 2015

Yes we are booked to go on our overnight tramp to Powell Hut on Thursday 3rd September returning on Friday the 4th September.

Once again we are fortunate to have leading our tramp - Pete Cunningham who has continued to support or school with Powell Hut for many years.
So start thinking about what you will need and see if you can go on line and pick up a second hand pack for the tramp.  I saw one on line this morning for a very reasonable price and I'm sure you can then sell it to one of the year 7's for next year.
How exciting for us all!!!!!!!
