What’s on this week – Week 10 Term 3 2015

Monday.  Scooter day. 10 Minute run. – PrEP – Primary Enterprise Programme from 2pm till 3pm.  This final session will be just tidying up any paper work etc plus getting some feedback on the Market Day last Friday.
TuesdayTechnology at Makoura College.  Students wear covered shoes and girls tie up their hair.  Some fees are still to be paid so can we have them in ASAP – thanks.  Kapa Haka,
Wednesday –– Usual day
Thursday –Usual day
Friday –Scooter day, Sausage Sizzle Final Assembly for the term - Student of the Term plus any term certificates begins at 9am TBC
Class Blog- room14cartertonschool2015.blogspot.co.nz.  Check us out and I will be putting any info on the blog such as reminders etc, plus what we have been doing at school and in class.
Google docs – your child has their class log-in and can find any homework etc on Google Drive.  Plus you can see what they have been doing in class if they are using a device or netbook.  Each student can log in using their school email address and  password.

Any chocolates sold [money].  If you ordered more than 1 box to sell and now no longer want the others, please let me know as I have a lot of students wanting extras – thanks.

PrEP Market Day on Friday – Wet or Fine 12 sharp



Monday.  Scooter day. 10 Minute run. – PrEP – Primary Enterprise Programme from 12.45 till 3pm. NMSSA will be working with the Yr 8’s

Friday –Scooter day, Sausage Sizzle - TBC, PrEP Market Day begins at 12 sharp.  All whanau are welcome to come along to support your child.  You can purchase PrEP money from our bank and use it to buy goods from our Market Day.  We would love to see you here. If wet we will all be in the Hall.

Brooklyn Exchange

What a fantastic day for our annual Brooklyn Sports Exchange.  We have been doing the exchange with Brooklyn School since 2002 and every second year they come over from Wellington to spend the day with us doing a variety of different sports including rugby, basketball, netball, soccer, hockey and chess.
There was mixed results with the sports and the whole event was awesome.
A huge thank you to all our whanau who came along to support, ref and help with the kai, Tom and Patrick from Wai Col, all the teachers involved, South End School for joining us, all the students from year 6/7 and 8 









and of course Brooklyn School.

Brooklyn Exchange – Wednesday Shared lunch please

Wednesday –– Brooklyn Exchange begins by 10am with a Powhiri then our sports events.  Lunch is a shared lunch and we are bringing fruit / vege snacks and other exciting things. [kebabs, vege dips etc] 



Thursday –Usual day [getting over Brooklyn Sports!]

Friday –Scooter day, Sausage Sizzle,  Whole School Assembly sports in the afternoon – weather permitting.

All students have their own log in for Maths Buddy.  Check it out! We are on a free trial until the end of this year.  Maths Buddy is a maths tutor which is a great learning tool.  All you need is the internet and your password.

The All Blacks visit Carterton School

We  were just so excited when we learnt the All Blacks were coming to Carterton School.  Mitchell was an Ambassador for our class and meet them at the gate.  What an awesome day!

Powell Hut Postponement

Powell Hut Postponed

Unfortunately due to weather conditions and safety factors we will have to postpone the annual Powell Hut Tramp until next term.


Although there is not expected to be a lot of rain on Thursday, the wind chill temperature will be around minus 9 degrees around the time we are expected to get there.

Powell Hut – New dates Term 4

The new dates for Powell Hut are as follows:

Week 2 -  Thursday 22 October / Friday 23 October

 If unsuitable - Postponement date will be:
Week 3  - Thursday 29 October / Friday 30 October

Please contact me if your child cannot attend - otherwise we will presume that they still have permission to go to Powell Hut.
